August ’17 Manage Up Session Notes

Thank you to all of our presenters for sharing the following information at our August 4, 2017, meeting!

  • Operational Excellence
    • Presenters: Raegan Schneider, HR Director; David Parker, Senior Fiscal Officer; Rich Chappell, Executive Director GP Admissions
    • Site: “Operational Excellence” on the SharePoint. This site contains the submission form if you or your staff have any cost savings or operating efficiency ideas, as well as an FAQ, the announcement from Vern Granger, the 2020 Vision, and a list of submitted ideas.
      • Note: If you would prefer to submit your idea anonymously, follow the directions at the bottom of the submission page for mailing it via University Mail to Raegan Schneider.
    • Committee is looking for feedback and ideas on the initiative.
  • The Enterprise Project
    • Presenters: Ron Salyers, Sr. Director IT; Alison O’Neal, SFA/Buckeye Link Consultant
    • What is the difference between Workday and the Enterprise Project? Workday is a portion of the Enterprise Project, which contains everything we need to do.
    • Five Phase Plan:
      • Plan & Foundational Design – Done
      • Architect – Began August 1, 2017 – Key decisions have to be made by the end of this phase.
      • Configure & Prototype
      • Testing
      • Deployment – Date TBA
    • Transformation opportunities for our area (called “BPTs,” Business Process Transformations) that have been approved:
      • Undergraduate Academic Advising
      • Relationship and Experience Management
      • Non-credit and Experiential Learning
    • Organizational change management – a team is in place to support the human side of this, in dealing with the impending changes. They believe “individuals drive organizational success.”
