On December 5th, Kathy presented at the International History, Philosophy and Science Teaching Group’s Conference in Taipei, Taiwan. The talk focused on the recently developed and tested model based natural selection and population ecology unit. Students used Excel modeling tools for data collection and model development. The talk presented the results of pre and post tests administered to experimental and comparison classes. The research found that students in experimental classes had greater gains than comparison students and these gains were statistically significant.
