G.O.A.L.S.

Global awareness is something that I firmly believe in the significance of. On campus, I hope to find a multicultural club to open myself up to diverse opinions and lifestyles. I also would like to take a literature class which explores works from a different country. I also plan on continuing my study of spanish, so that I can speak with others in their native tongue, or possibly study abroad in a spanish speaking country.

As an honors student, I anticipate taking many honors courses for my general education requirements and for my major in Physics. I am considering taking math and computer science classes as I am considering a minor in these subjects. I also plan to pursue physics based research in the coming years. Outside the academic realm, I plan to be involved in clarinet musical performance, either in concert or athletic bands. I would also like to participate in a creative writing club next semester when my schedule allows it.

Academic Enrichment is my main purpose for attending The Ohio State University. I am majoring in physics with the hopes of going into physics related research science, or becoming a professor at an institution of higher education. I love learning about how things interact and gaining a better understanding of our universe. I plan to diversify my academic experience by selecting GEs that appeal to my other interests, such as literature/poetry. By taking honors level GEs, I hope to have an enriching understanding of other academic disciplines besides math and science. I also plan on being involved in physics and math based clubs.

To me, Leadership Development consists of striving towards better skills to help guide others to achieve a common goal. Anyone can give orders, but leadership involves motivating others to work towards something greater. I am currently involved in Collegiate Winds on campus, and I plan on joining the student leadership of the organization if I continue participating in that group in the future. I also hope to grow my leadership skills by attending related First Year Success Seminars.

Service engagement is something that I have always been involved in. I was a member of National Honor Society in high school, and have had prior volunteering experience before then. I hope to find a volunteer organization on OSU’s campus. I am currently considering joining the Adopt-A-School program, to help teachers and students at local schools. I would also like to explore options to become a peer tutor for my fellow students in math or physics.

About Me

I am a physics major in the OSU class of 2023. I am interested in the physical sciences, mathematics, and literature. I also enjoy playing my clarinet in various musical ensembles. I look forward to growing academically while I attend OSU, with the hopes of becoming a physics professor.
