Ohio 4-H Achievement Record

Reminder:  Ohio 4-H Achievement Record due February 1st for State Trips

TRIPS AND AWARDS FOR TEENS…there are opportunities to expand your horizon this year in 4-H. Members interested in these trip opportunities will fill out the Ohio 4-H Achievement Record. This record compiles the information about members’ 4-H Careers. Although it is a long form, it is relatively simple to complete. As always, you can schedule time with the OSU Extension office for help completing this record.

The 4-H Endowment and Alumni Committees have come together to give scholarships for camps and trips.  There is only ONE form to complete in order to apply for any of these awards. The form is due to the Mahoning County Extension Office by:  February 1, 2017 at 4:30 p.m.

A new friend of Extension

At the recent OSU Extension Annual conference, held December 7 in Columbus, Hugh Earnhart received the “Friend of Extension” award.  Earnhart, a long-time Extension Advisory Committee member, Master Gardener Volunteer, and Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist, lives in Poland and devotes much of his time to OSU Extension and the Mahoning County Extension office.  The Friend of Extension award is the highest recognition that can be presented by Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP) to a non-Extension person, business or organization and is designed to recognize truly outstanding support and involvement in Extension efforts.

Tammy Brooks Received our Friend of 4-H for 2016.

Tammy captures the moments that we as volunteers and parents miss during the fair.

She goes above and beyond to share these photos with 4-H families since they were busy washing animals, holding show sticks, chewing fingernails and generally supporting their 4-H’er in the show ring.

Thanks Tammy for all you do for the 4-H Community.

Family Farm and Home in Austintown received our Business Friend of 4-H for 2016.

Jim Russell, Family Farm and Home (right)  received plaque from Sam Barnhouse, 4-H Advisory Committee (left).

Family, Farm and Home sponsored the Youth Day Ceremony at the Canfield Fair.

They offer discounts on feed and supplies to 4-H members who take animal projects.

If you stop by their business, they share the pride of their 4-H partnership on the wall at their business – from thank you notes to pictures with 4-Hers at the livestock auction and other plaques received for 4-H support.

Thanks to Family Farm and Home for your continuous support.
