Leadership Camp is a state 4-H camp held at 4-H Camp Ohio in St. Louisville in Licking County. The camp is designed to help campers develop their leadership abilities. Campers stay busy attending different sessions every day which included discipline, trust, understanding self and others, motivation, and courage just to name a few.
Don’t let the session names fool you, they may sound uninteresting but are filled with fun and exciting activities. Discipline is taught through shooting sports, trust is taught through getting your whole group through obstacle courses, understanding self and others was enjoyed doing social skills, and courage was my favorite and taught on a high ropes course ending in a zip lining experience through the woods. Free time is also given at different times throughout the day to enjoy swimming or just spending time with your new friends.
I have made friends all over the state of Ohio and feel my leadership abilities are definitely stronger because of this awesome opportunity and would highly recommend 4-H’ers ages 15-18 apply for the chance to experience this camp.
