In this project, I draw inspiration from fragmentary evidences of dancing by Mahari Sashimoni Devi in the documentary film, Given to Dance directed by Ron Hess. The above pictures are screenshots of Devi’s performance for the camera. They depict the full-bodied movements and non-presentational gestural and postural usage of Mahari performativity.
