Buckeyelink

BuckeyeLink is the online hub for everything administrative during your time as an Ohio State student. When you log into BuckeyeLink, your Student Center will be your main dashboard. This is where you’ll register for classes, pay tuition/fees, etc.

Please see the image below of a sample student center account. The main tab in the center of the screen is titled “Academics” and illustrates your course schedule. On the left you’ll see links that allow you to view your schedule for upcoming semesters, and add/drop additional classes.

On the right, you will see boxes titled “Holds,” “To Do List” and “Enrollment Information”.

  • Holds=anything preventing you from registering for classes. Holds can be administrative, financial, etc. If there is a hold on your account, it will be listed here, and there will be a link titled “Details” that you can click to learn more about the hold and how to address it.
  • To Do List=a list of items that you’re required to complete. A common to-do list item for incoming students is the requirement to send in official, final transcripts. Read more on this requirement below! Another common hold throughout your time as a student is the Financial Responsibility Statement, which students must complete every semester before being able to register for the next semester. To Do List items will populate here as links, and clicking the links in this box will at least tell you more about the item, and sometimes let you actually complete the item in BuckeyeLink.
  • Enrollment Information=this is where your assigned registration window for current and upcoming semesters will populate. Check back periodically, as these are usually assigned in BuckeyeLink about a week or so ahead of when your window actually opens. While we can always make sure that you get into the core classes you need (although we cannot guarantee specific section availability), electives and skills classes can fill up, so we strongly recommend that you note when your enrollment window opens each semester, and get registered as soon as you can. You can always add/drop courses later, but it’s safest to get in and start getting your schedule together for the next term as soon as you’re able to do so.

Finally, the section in the middle of the page, under “Academics” is titled “Finances” and this is where you can view your account balances and make payments.

We recommend checking your Student Center regularly for holds, to-do list items, and to make sure your account balance is what you expect.
