Me at my high school graduation

I am a first year in the College of Food, Agricultural  and Environmental Sciences, the School of Environment and Natural Resources, and the Environment and Natural Resources Scholars Program. I am from Marysville, Ohio and I graduated from The Marysville High School with honors and in the top ten percent of my class. I love to learn new things especially topics that are presented to me in a visual or physical way. I love to do hands-on work and see how what I learn is used in everyday life. One of my favorite courses in high school was Marine Biology because we would learn about an organism and the practice what we learned in a dissection.

Through Ohio State I hope to learn about the environment and especially about the many varieties of organisms that live and thrive in it. Through my scholars program and through various clubs I hope to gain field experience working with animals in their environments to gain a better understanding of what I learn inside the classroom by applying it to the real world. I hope to also work over the summer as an intern or a volunteer for The Ohio Department of Natural Resources working with wildlife and the environment. I hope after graduation I can acquire a job in a national or state park as a wildlife biologist/ naturalist or work as a wildlife rehabilitator.

I love to be outdoors and in nature during most of my time. I enjoy working with animals and doing what I can to provide a bright future for them so that my own children can enjoy the thriving wildlife ecosystems that I have. I love to go on nature walks and hikes in local metro parks and wildlife reserves. In the future I hope to volunteer to help clean up ecosystems and to help rehabilitate wildlife.
