My name is Daniel Ma. I currently study at Ohio State under Dr. Natalie Hull. Our group focuses on investigating and developing disinfection technologies for controlling microbial contaminants in water systems.
Thanks for visiting my research page! Here you will find some more details about my research. My current projects are:
- Quantitative microbial risk assessment of photorepair after UV disinfection and determination of shelf-life in decentralized drinking water systems (Masters)
- Wastewater surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 by RT-qPCR and RT-dPCR in wastewater from three wastewater treatment plants in Ohio
- Synergistic effects of UV LED wavelengths applied sequentially and simultaneously on microbial photorepair after UV disinfection (Masters/PhD)
- Development and testing of hydropowered UV LED for off-grid and chemical-free disinfection (PhD)
- Measuring and modeling systemic factors that impact quality and perception of tap water in rural Appalachia (PhD)
