I am a first year student who is currently enrolled as an Arts Scholars student. I am currently a business major with a specialization in international studies. I also hope to minor in dance and French. I graduated from Pine-Richland High School in 2015 in the top 10 percent of my class. I am the type of learner who needs to continually study. It can be frustrating, but I know that it has taught me important skills that can carry over into everyday life. I love hands-on experience. I feel that I learn best when I am fully immersed in what I am doing. I love to dance, play music, play ultimate Frisbee, volunteer, and travel. During my senior year at PR, I was the drum major for our marching band. This was one of the best experiences of my life. I will always remember the moment I first realized that it was time for me to truly grow up and be my own person. My “ah-ha moment” occurred when in the beginning of band camp while I was standing on the ladder in front of the band. I went to ask my band director what he wanted, and he said to me, “this is your band.” Ever since then I have developed into a more independent person. Being drum major taught me how to be a strong leader and helpful person. I try to befriend everyone, and I smile to try to brighten people’s days. I believe that change starts with every individual and strive to be the best person I can be!
