Urban Art Space – Fall 16′ Art & Tech show
Working Title: The Comfort of Fears
Artist: Andrew Lykins
Description of work: A cyclical animation played continuously, projected on a screen, and displayed silently but with a lone pair of headphones for one audience member to use at a time.
Materials used: (1) Extension Cord with a minimum of two 3 pronged outlets, (1) Roll of dark duct tape to hide and hold cords, (1) HD projector, (1) VGA to HDMI Adaptor, (1) HDMI cable, (1) Laptop, (1) Power Cord for Laptop, (1) Pair of Head Phones, and (1) Desk or Table to hold above materials on display.
Estimated measurements: Screen rented from classroom services is roughly 6’ wide. With an unknown but likely around that same height that it is in width. Project will most likely need to be placed approximately 10’ from the screen until tested otherwise. Desk or Table should be a comfortable height to house Materials and large enough to hold Projector, Laptop, and Headphones Simultaneously. Maybe 1’x 3’ and about 3~4’ high
Requested Technology Loan:
– (1) HD video projector (Already reserved from December 2nd thru 12th from class room services.)
- for animation loop to be projected from
– (1) Screen (Already reserved from December 2nd thru 12th from class room services.)
- for animation loop to be displayed upon
– (1) Media Player with HDMI output and headphone jack
- Video Cables, VGA or HDMI (depending on projector)
Special installation needs:
Dark area, space for viewers to stand around for viewing and table or podium large enough to house materials (placed center of installation – roughly 10 ft. away from screen up against the wall). Near enough to a power outlet.
