Reflection First Draft

After submitting my answers, I got two satisfied jobs: VP Sales and Director of Construction. They both have high job satisfaction, low job stress, and high job meaning. Then I made a summary from the payscale website. Firstly, after reading the job content, I would like to choose VP Sales rather than Director of Construction, because the Director of Construction’s educational requirements include a bachelor’s degree in architecture, but I am not interest in architecture or I think I am not good at it at all. However, the VP Sales requires an ability to interpret numbers and statistics and develop strategies to increase sales and staff efficiency, which matches my major, mathematics. The difference among them are that VP sales have higher average salary, but Director of Construction have more male proportion in this job, which reach an amazing 9:1! The similarity is that they both pay more salary by your experience in career, which means when I have a conformation on this job, I need to work hard and consistently in this area to earn more salary.

It’s the gender proportion of Director of Construction, demonstrating the “amazing 9:1”

It demonstrates that the salary increase as your career year increases.

The average salary for VP Sales is $141,779 and Director of Construction is $120,092. I am very satisfied with the salary relatively higher than other jobs, and I have a opportunity to have a constantly increased earn by hardworking and being more professional with my major.

They both have highly satisfied points 4.3 of 5 for VP and 4.2 of 5 for D.o.C, but after reading the reviews of VP, “Pros: Gratifying feeling of having satisfied a customer is one way or another. The thrill of making sales targets. The challenge of having to find solutions to a problem and go further to implement them. The exciting feeling of working on dead lines. The adrenalin rush is an overall drug that keeps me glued to the job.

Cons: The fact that I get to spend less time with my family due to work demands.”, I was a little be hesitating about this job, because even if the exciting feeling of working on dead lines and the sense of accomplishment really attract me, I was hesitating to choose the job if I need to exchange my time with families with more and more money. It’s meaningless, so for the problem is the satisfaction more important than the salary, my answer is definitely yes. Although money is important for everyone in such a fierce competitive society, the time to accompany with our families is more important. The original purpose for me to earn much money is to enhance the life quality. The same, the original objective of improving our life quality is to let us live satisfactorily, so I will never work hard to get a non-satisfactory life.
