G.O.A.L.S.

Global Awareness: In order to cultivate and develop my appreciation for diversity and each individual’s unique differences, in the summer of 2019, I plan to participate in a study abroad program called Trondbuss. I will stay with a family in Trondheim, Norway and attend the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. I will be able to experience Scandinavian culture, one that is different from my own, in hopes that I can learn something valuable about it

Original Inquiry: I want to understand the research process by engaging in experiences ranging from creative inquiry projects to independent experiences with researchers across campus. I plan to be involved with research with a faculty member within the Department of Molecular Genetics.

Academic Enrichment: I want to pursue academic excellence through rigorous curricular experiences beyond the university norm both in and out of the classroom. I will do this by taking honors classes when they aren’t required and by being a member of the Undergraduate Molecular Genetics Club.

Leadership Development: I plan to develop leadership skills by demonstrating them in the classroom, in the community, and in my outside of university activities. I am working towards becoming a Student Lead at Kennedy Commons on campus.

Service Engagement: I will commit to service by being an active member of the community, specifically through the sorority I am a part of. Our philanthropy is based on raising money for and awareness about speech and hearing. I also attend the service events uniquely offered through my sorority.
