Please join us for an intimate encounter with French journalist and documentary filmmaker, Laura Sahin, and students from Professor Danielle Marx-Scouras’s French 5206 North Africa course (“Maghreb Pluriel”) on 5 April 2023 from 12:45 to 2:05 PM (Eastern Standard Time). Laura’s work on French-Algerian history is one that transcends political divisions, focusing instead on individuals who share an unconditional love for their Mediterranean roots and an attachment to their homeland. Laura’s exploration of the sites of memory is a beautiful tribute to these personal histories and to her own cultural inheritance, as the daughter of French-Algerian Jews.
