USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map – 2023

How to Use These Maps

Plant hardiness zones are based on the average annual extreme low temperatures for a given range. These zones range from zone 1a to 13b. These zones can serve as a general guideline when we are making decisions as to what plants grow best in our region. While this information can be helpful during our decision making process, we must also take other factors into consideration as well, such as light, soil moisture, temperature, duration of exposure to cold temperatures, and relative humidity.

These maps are the newest edition of the USDA Plant Hardiness Zone maps. The 2023 maps are the most up to date since 2012. Feel free to check out the USDA website to get more information on how to use the maps or compare maps from previous years.
