G.O.A.L.S

I have always wanted to study abroad, I am currently unsure about where exactly I want to go. I am Puerto Rican and I am currently involved in the Latin X program on campus. I have gone to various events hosted by the multicultural center, at those events I have been able to not only experience my own culture but I have also been able to witness other cultures traditions, dances, and food. I hope to exceed in my class work and do research one day. Throughout high school my school did not offer AP courses, but they did offer various college level courses that I have taken. All of the courses I took in high school as college credit have transferred over and because of that I am not currently taking any math, english, or science GE courses. This semester I was able to take Introduction to Criminal Justice and that course has given me a taste of many of courses I will take in the future. I am currently taking three honors level courses and I love them, they challenge me to think and read in a way that I have never done before. Prior to attending Ohio State I worked at the local Burger King in my hometown there I was a shift leader that assisted the manager in running the store. I was also a section leader and squad leader in the marching band at my high school where I ran the section. On campus I am currently exploring the various different student organizations to find the one that fits me best and from there I will possibly obtain a leadership role. I volunteer with a nonprofit organization called Trials for Hope that aids homeless people in the Cleveland area. With that organization we make and distribute clothing, bags of food, and bags of toiletries to the many homeless men and women around them cities. Through this I have gotten to hear many people’s stories about how they ended up on the streets and it have made me very grateful for the life I have been given. Throughout my time at Ohio State I hope to exceed in my academics and in my social life. I want to meet new people and make many connections that may be of use to me at some point in the future. I want to learn as much as I possibly can and one day make a difference in the world.
