Meeting #6
Date: February 12, 2020
Time: 12:45pm (during Lab 5)
Members Present: Zach Lohrman, Nick Webb, Jen Lin
Meeting Items:
- Gathered experimental data from wind turbine equipped with EP-3030 propeller.
- Calculated performance at various speeds for propulsion efficiency, power output, thrust, etc.
- Graphed efficiency of propeller configurations as a function of their advance ratio.
- Data from this figure could be used to determine the propeller’s optimum rotational velocity.
- Graphed efficiency of propeller configurations as a function of their advance ratio.
- Calculated performance at various speeds for propulsion efficiency, power output, thrust, etc.
- Disassembled AEV and reconstructed it according to the most recent design.
- Evaluated various parameters of the new design such as balance on the rail, center of mass, and overall weight as compared to the original design.
- Newest design showed improvements in every category, except for overall weight, which remained the same.
- The newest design will be used as the project moves forward.
- Newest design showed improvements in every category, except for overall weight, which remained the same.
- Evaluated various parameters of the new design such as balance on the rail, center of mass, and overall weight as compared to the original design.
- Tested descent speed of vehicle down the incline without power.
- Meant to test the efficiency of wheels on the track regarding resistance, and primarily to determine the necessary power to brake the vehicle sufficiently on descent.
