Year in Review

This past year has been pretty crazy. A conversation with one of my friends comes to mind. We decided to go to Chipotle for lunch, although I’m not that big a fan of it to be quite honest. I ordered a burrito bowl and she asked my why I didn’t get a regular burrito. I replied that it was because every time I ate one of those giant burritos, they ended up falling apart and creating a mess. I then likened that to my college experience. “College life is like a burrito, it looks tasty and it’s filled with great things, but after you take a bite, it all falls apart.” Maybe it’s the novelty of living away from home for the first time or just all the opportunities at my fingertips, but I feel like I’ve squandered some of my time here, not doing the best that I could have. That being said, I still think my first year has been fruitful. I’ve met some outstanding people and I’ve grown so much. Here’s hoping for next year to be a good time.

Artifact 4

J2K Talent Show 2016

The 2nd J2K talent show also happened to be my dance debut. Although I never intended to dance, I was pulled from behind the camera and asked [read: forced] to dance in front of a crowd. I found out a day prior to the Talent show, so I was panicked but it ended up going well. I danced to PSY’s “Daddy”. Crazy dance, but overall really fun.

Artifact 3

The first music video I filmed for J2K as the newly appointed Tech Vice President. I had to get up super early to film some of the most talented dancers in freezing weather. A difficult job, but I honestly had a lot of fun doing it.

Artifact 2

Jonathon and I

A picture from the 2016 One Asian Nation event where my mentor, Jonathon Sun, was voted “Mr. Asia”. Good times with my API Cohort group. I’m gonna miss him when he graduates.

Artifact 1

millenium goals presentation

This was actually the first group project I’ve worked on since starting college. It was concerning the UN Millennium Goals, which I did an enormous amount of research on in high school. It seems like a fitting project, using information I had obtained during high school to do an assignment in college. Not only is it interesting, it’s a very real problem that’s important to learn about.
