Personal Profile of Zishu Ling
My name is Zishu Ling and you can also call me Michael. I come from China and now live in Beijing. I am a new transfer student from Sichuan university located in Chengdu China. I have a wide range of interests. I have a strong passion on film shooting as well as photographing and have already produced several videos. I am also talented in some sports like badminton and tennis. Besides, I prefer to relax through some outdoor
exercise such as hiking or cycling. Playing the Chinese Go since I was only 6 years old let me gain the skill of independent thinking. Just like a commander, my battleground is the chessboard.

I was born in Beijing and grew up in Beijing. I graduated from Tsinghua University middle school and Tsinghua University High school. The most unforgettable experience was when I went to the Australia as an exchange student in the primary school. In China, students sometimes are shy for showing their thought and prefer to be a listener. However, the children in Australia were active and willing to show themselves. Their passion encouraged me to show myself as well. Little by little, I began to enjoy expressing my thought and realize that I should be both a listener and a speaker.
I am glad to be a new Buckeye. The Ohio State University is a diversified university which attracts me a lot. There are various of activities and courses so that I can choose what I want to do. I’m now studying the industrial engineering and plan to study the Integrated Systems Engineering in the OSU which are quite similar. I chose the IE in chance. However, I have found my passion in IE or ISE. IE is 
a subject that focus on the productivity, including human factors, database and supply chain. I am willing to solve the productivity problem using my professional knowledge.

Hi, Zishu. To be honest with you, I used to be a typical Chinese student who prefer to be a listener. However, I know it can not be a good idea to be introvert. So I talked myself into being a speaker gradually by forcing myself to share my thinking and ideas with others. I now find the joy of speaking out and exchanging ideas with others.
