COLLECTION GRANTS
Canadian Government Collection Development Grants for Canadian Studies Materials: 1996/97-2008. I received more than $11,000 during this period for matching grants. This activity includes coordinating multidisciplinary purchases involving several collection managers. I also regularly attend the annual program of the Ohio Canadian Studies Round Table.
EXHIBIT GRANTS
National Endowment for the Humanities: Awarded a $1,000 grant and exhibit sponsorship by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association for the touring exhibit “Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World” hosted by OSU Libraries in April 2011.
Ohio Humanities Council: Award a $2,000 grant to cover expenses for programming related to the exhibit, “Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World” hosted by OSU Libraries in March-April 2011.
EXHIBITS
“Faces of War: The Civil War,” consists of images of soldiers with identifying information, selected books with images of soldiers, a list of Ohio soldiers who were awarded the Medal of Honor in the Civil War, and artifacts loaned by Professor Mark Grimsley of the OSU History Dept. All images refer viewers to the sources of the image. December 2011 Commemorates Ohio soldiers who fought in the Civil War. The year 2011 is the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the war. The exhibit was created with the assistance of graphic artist Pam McClung.
“Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World”
Consisted of panels from traveling exhibit sponsored by the American Library Association and the National Endowments for the Humanities. It also included works selected from the OSU Libraries special collections. The exhibit was accompanied by 3 speaker programs and hand printing press demonstrations. March-April, 2011
Abraham Lincoln Birthday Bicentennial Commemoration 1809/2009.
Exhibit of selected books from the circulating collection with illustrations and texts about Lincoln at various stages of his life and work as president.
