About Me

Hello, my name is Mar Lin and I am from Akron, Ohio. I graduated from the National Inventors Hall of Fame STEM High School. I am a freshman and my major is pre-nursing. I want to become a nurse practitioner or a pediatrician, but ultimately, work in hospital helping others. I was born in Bangkok, Thailand and I moved to the United States when I was five years. My native language is Burmese. I am currently studying Chinese and I love it. This summer, I went to China, specifically Chengdu and Beijing. I love to read books, watch movies and play badminton. I like spending time with other people and hanging out with my friends. When I was in Akron, I also helped interpret for many refugees at places such as hospitals, schools and jobs. I am very excited and nervous to be at such a big university but I am ready to take on the challenges. I want to explore and be active in student organizations, volunteer and also study abroad.
