Yu-Chen Tina Lin is the Assessment Coordinator (Education Resource Specialist) for English as a Second Language (ESL) Programs in the Department of Teaching and Learning at The Ohio State University. Dr. Lin assists the Associate Chair of the Department with oversight of language testing for the Spoken English Program (SEP) which screens about 500 prospective International Teaching Associates (ITAs) and also for the ESL Composition (ESLC) Program, which assesses approximately 1,500 incoming graduate and undergraduate international students per year. She designs testing, rating, and rater training materials, works with assessment team members to update and refine testing materials, and ensures validity, reliability, and fairness of OSU’s in-house English tests.
Dr. Lin has presented at academic conferences in the field of Language Testing, Applied Linguistics, and TESOL. She also teaches graduate courses on Issues and Research in Foreign Language Testing and Assessment in the Program of Foreign, Second, and Multilingual Language Education or on Balanced Assessment for Teaching and Learning in the Department of Teaching and Learning.
