If I were to participate in the spring project I would work independently on an original inquiry. I would like to improve my understanding of my heritage by learning Khmer. What I would learn are general greetings so that I could say them to my parents. Each day I would go on a Khmer language app for at least 10 minutes of the day or ask my parents directly how I would say the formal and informal greetings. However, I no longer wish to participate in the spring project.

Columbus To Do List

For my Columbus to-do list, I decided to go with an ice cream and dessert theme. From this experience, I would like to find a good ice cream place because I really like ice cream. Another reason I decided to pick an ice cream and dessert theme was because there are a lot of ice cream places nearby campus that are CABS and COTA friendly. The first place I went to (third picture in the post) was Eden Burger. I got a vegan mint chocolate shake and it was not really good. Also, it was bland visually. I do not see myself going there again even if I was vegan. The
second stop was at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams (last picture posted). The ice cream at Jeni’s was a lot better than the first stop. Texturally, it was super creamy and rich. Shortly after Jeni’s, I went and tried CRMD (fourth picture) down in short north which just recently opened up. I enjoyed my experience there and the worker was really nice. I liked how their ice cream was very colorful and fun. At Jeni’s and CRMD you can tell that they care about the quality of their ice cream. Even though I did not like the shake from Eden Burger, I appreciate that they are vegan-friendly. After going to the three ice cream places, I see myself going to Jeni’s and CRMD again but Jeni’s more than CRMD. Although I enjoyed CRMD, Jeni’s has more locations around Columbus making it more convenient to go there instead of CRMD.
Part 2 of my experience:
After going to the three ice cream places, I went to Graeters (second picture) and got the black raspberry ice cream. Even though I’ve been there before, I enjoyed going back because it brought back a lot of childhood memories. I would definitely go back to Graeters again because of the friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and great ice-cream. The last stop was to United Dairy Farmers (first picture). Although the sherbet was good, my stomach hurt after eating it so I won’t be eating there any time soon. Overall, I enjoyed my experience going to all of the ice cream scoops especially CRMD. If I were to rank the ice cream shops/places that offer ice cream from most to least favorite, it would be Jeni’s Ice Cream, CRMD, Graeters, United Dairy Farmers, and then Eden Burger. While going to all the places, along the way I saw that Columbus has a lot to offer and there are plenty of other places to go. I would like to explore the events going around Columbus as well as the different kinds of food if my schedule can allot time for such endeavors. If someone decides to choose ice cream as their theme, I suggest that they don’t try to go to all the places at once because it’s not good to have too much sweets in a short period of time. Also, I recommend that they don’t go and eat when it’s really cold out.
About Me: Reflection
I think welcome week was nice because there were a lot of events to attend and the involvement fair showed me possible organizations I could be apart of.
My classes were different from what I expected. I didn’t know there would be a recitation and lecture class.
I’m adjusting well to the new schedule but Calculus is hard.
Honestly, I thought the first few days of classes would be easier. But I did expect the amount of opportunities available to do different things.
The Scholars Program I’m apart of shows me a possible career path.
About Me
I am from Pickerington, OH and went to Pickerington High School Central. I was involved in German Club, National Art Honors Society, and National Honors Society. I am currently undecided but I am looking into majoring in Nutrition. Currently I am apart of C.A.S.A at Ohio State University. This year I hope to study abroad.
