My first National Science Foundation (NSF) project was funded in 2000 through the National Science Digital Library (NSDL) program. In addition, I have been funded through four other NSF programs – Discovery Research K-12, International Polar Year, Climate Change Education, and Geoscience Education. I was highly involved with the NSF NSDL and Cyberlearning programs and was funded to lead the effort to develop a science metadata vocabulary based on the National Science Education Standards and the AAAS Benchmarks, the results of which continue to be adopted by digital libraries across the country. I am the Principal Investigator on 14 externally funded projects with budgets totaling $7,032,375.
