Riley Summers, MPH, Project Manager

Riley graduated with her Honors Health Sciences degree and minor in Biology in May of 2023. She just recently completed her Master of Public Health at Ohio State with a specialization in Health Behavior and Health Promotion and a sub-specialization in Global Health. Riley received the 2024 School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Distinguished Research Staff Award for her dedication to the LIFT Lab.

In the LIFT Lab, Riley serves as the lead project manager for the QI Hub, which is a state-wide chronic health improvement initiative funded by the Ohio Department of Medicaid. She also contributes her expertise to a range of other projects centered on qualitative research. With extensive experience in project management, she also serves as a mentor to students and provides oversight to other LIFT Lab staff.

Jamie Lenzo, M.Ed, Education Program Manager

Jamie focused on improving Special Education programs in the K-12 school system. She also worked with numerous research projects to further develop curriculum for assisting special education students, and ensuring that equity, empowerment, and opportunity are primary goals of the educational system. Jamie is passionate, authentic, and selfless and is determined to improving equitable solutions to support the LIFT Lab’s goals.

In her free time, Jamie enjoys playing sand volleyball, paddleboarding, and spending time outdoors. She also values spending quality time with her family and friends.

 

Najhee Purdy, Project Manager

Najhee graduated, with Honors in the Liberal Arts, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with his Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Biochemistry and a certificate in Global Health in May 2021. Currently, Najhee is pursuing his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees at The Ohio State University. Najhee aspires to be a physician that serves underserved populations, and advocates for these populations by advancing health policy focused on achieving health equity and reducing health disparities.

In the LIFT lab, Najhee serves as a project manager for the QI Hub.

 

John Dobrea, Lab Technician

John Fox Dobrea, Lab Technician

John Dobrea is a Lab Technician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He works to consolidate lab data, and specializes in making information more accessible, clear, and efficiently displayed.

Outside of the LIFT Lab, John can be found working out, playing piano, doing Martial Arts, playing video games, and walking in nature.

 

Jennifer Eramo, MSN, BS, RN, AHN-BC, CPHQ

Jenny’s background encompasses experiences in healthcare leadership, quality, staff development, data analytics, clinical care, and research. Her vitae includes human performance research at Penn State; Phase I and II clinical trials in Gynecology Oncology at Yale New Haven Hospital using surgical, chemotherapeutic, or radioactive interventions; intensive and coronary care at a regional Level I trauma center; clinical leadership and staff development at a national skilled home care agency with co-authorship of two new procedures involving intraperitoneal dialysis; quality reviews for a national healthcare data analytics company; quality and nursing leadership for veterans at the VA Central Ohio Healthcare System for which she received the VA Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Nursing in an Expanded Role, and as a liaison for clinician-driven and patient-centered health services/ implementation science research at the Ohio State CATALYST Center. Jenny earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology/ Vertebrate Physiology and Nursing from Penn State, a Master of Science in Nursing/ Administration from Capital University, and she is pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice/ Nurse Executive degree at Ohio State. She is a certified professional in healthcare quality and board certified as an advanced holistic nurse.

In the LIFT Lab, Jenny serves as the leader for the QI Hub Implementation team as well as participating in other QI Hub and LIFT Lab activities.

Alexa Plotkin

Alexa is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and minor in Chemistry. Through diverse experiences—including design projects, leadership roles, and research—she developed a strong passion for advancing healthcare engineering and bridging the gap between engineers and healthcare professionals. Ultimately, Alexa hopes to use her unique expertise as a physician, emphasizing the importance of holistic healthcare. 

Previously, she has interned with multiple engineering consulting firms as well as the United States Department of Defense. Her research experience includes an NIH MARC-sponsored undergraduate thesis on bone biomechanics at Ohio State, as well as a summer research program with the Indiana University School of Medicine and Purdue University’s Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. On campus, Alexa held leadership roles in various organizations, including the Accessible Prosthetics Initiative, which works to expand awareness and access to prosthetic devices. She is passionate about physical wellness and teaches chair yoga to seniors in her free time! 

In the LIFT Lab, Alexa will serve as a research assistant supporting a range of projects. She will most heavily be involved in the Women’s Health study managing, collecting, and analyzing data. 

Peyton Thomas

Peyton Thomas graduated in 2022 from Marshall University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with a Minor in Psychology. During his time there, he received the NASA WV Space Grant and the Marshall University Undergraduate Creative Discovery and Research Grant to conductive research with Dr. Kumika Toma, looking at how antigravity positions would affect muscle fiber type in the soleus muscles of rats. Following graduation from Marshall, Peyton attended the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at OSU and completed a research specialization as part of Dr. Stephanie Di Stasi’s lab at the Jameson Crane Sports Medicine institute. In May of 2025, he graduated from the DPT program at OSU he is now pursuing a PhD in health and rehabilitation sciences with Dr. Stephani Di Stasi as his research advisor. Peyton’s main goal is to become a researcher, focusing on improving clinical outcomes within the realm of physical therapy.
In the LIFT Lab, Peyton is part of the team working with SPIRIT Club.
