Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. In 2017, I did two project groups, Podcasting and Public Speaking.

For my final in Podcasting, I made a video showcasing some of the things that I learned in class (shown below).

For my final in Public Speaking, we were all given the topic of “I Believe” to give a powerpoint presentation about. I chose the topic of “I Believe in the Power of Theater

About Me

Hi, I’m Aaron Lien! I’m a first year Computer Science and Engineering student, with interests in Communications and Digital Media. Additionally, I’m also in the Media, Marketing, and Communications Program (MMC), and the Morrill Scholar’s Program (MSP). For MMC, I work in their office as a digital media specialist, where I edit videos and post them to the program’s YouTube Channel. Meanwhile for MSP, I am part of the Creative Expressions team.

I love media! Whether it’s social media, how media affects the world, or media in the form of video, I love being able to see media’s effects on the world, and one day I’d love to be one of the people influencing it.

Outside of class, I also enjoy reading, writing, and playing video games like League of Legends. I’m currently in my last year as a Senior Bible Quizzer, and I’m active in my home church. I am also an avid theater fan, having received the rank of Honor Bar Thespian in high school, and being an overall fan of musical theater and plays.
