What: Ohio 4-H Sea Camp Staff and Counselor Recruitment

Who: 4-H members or adults ages 18+ at the time of July 19, 2024

When: Applications are available now and due by April 15! Camp is July 19-23, 2024 with staff and counselors arriving on July 18 at Kelleys Island for required training.

If you are interested in contributing to Sea Camp this year, please complete either the Counselor Application (to be a cabin counselor) or Staff Application (to be adult staff or instructor). Links are below.

If you are interested in being a counselor, please complete the counselor application and send the reference form link to be completed by two references (not immediate family). If you are interested in being a staff member/instructor, please complete the staff application. Applications and references are due by April 15.

2024 4-H Dairy Judging Contest

LOCATION UPDATE!

The 2024 Dairy Judging Contest will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at LAYMAN DAIRY FARM located at 2868 Lake Fork Rd NE, Utica, OH 43080. After the contest concludes, Quality Assurance training will take place at SHIPLEY DAIRY FARM located at 9309 Reynolds Rd, Utica, OH 43080. This Quality Assurance Training is only offered for those Dairy and Dairy Feeder project members who participate in the Dairy Judging Contest.

 

2024 Spring Horse Clinic

The Licking County 4-H Horse and Pony Council will host their annual 4-H Horse Clinic on Saturday, April 20, 2024. This is an excellent opportunity for all horse project members.

Solar Eclipse Resources

It’s not too early to get excited about the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024! Even if you are not in the path of the total solar eclipse, you will see the moon’s shadow cover at least 90% of the sun!
Our 4-H professionals have worked together with Dr. Wayne Schlingman, Director of Arne Slettebak Planetarium at The Ohio State University main campus, to create teaching tools to help everyone in Ohio understand and enjoy the event. Family Fun Fair

Consider attending the upcoming Family Fun Fair at Heath Middle School on Saturday, March 2 from 11:00am to 2:oopm! So many great organizations will be on hand to discuss resources available to your family!

 

Ohio 4-H Adaptive Adventures Camp

Each summer, Ohio 4-H offers a camping experience for youth aged 8-adult who have unique needs that cannot be accommodated in a traditional camp setting. They typically have a small group of between 15-25 campers and their caregivers who spend the weekend doing all the normal camp things, modified for their needs. This year, Ohio 4-H Adaptive Adventures Camp will take plae at Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp in Jackson, Ohio from June 14-16, 2024. 2024 Southeast Ohio Pheasants Forever Youth Event

Southeast Ohio Pheasants Forever will hold their 22nd Annual Educational Youth Event on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Johnstown Community Sportsman’s Club.

When: Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 9:00am to 3:00pm

Where: Johnstown Community Sportsman’s Club located at 7357 Sportsman Club Rd., Johnstown, OH 43031

Who: Youth of all ages!

Cost: FREE!

Events include conservation, habitat, firearm safety, tree stand safety, bird house building, duck decoy painting, wildlife calling demonstrations, fishing, taxidermy, veterinary station, flint knapping, leather crafts, DARE Program, litter recycling, boating safety, and many others!
