Ohio 4-H is seeking camp counselors (age 18+), adult camp staff, and guest instructors for the 2022 Ohio 4-H Sea Camp July 15-19, 2022 held on Kelleys Island. This is a great opportunity for camp counselor alumni to continue to use the skills they learned as camp counselors and to stay involved with the Ohio 4-H camping program.

Equine Visit Day at Wilmington College
If you are interested in studying equine science in college, Wilmington College will be hosting a visit day geared towards 4-H and FFA members to explore the different pathways in the horse industry. 2022 Ohio 4-H Conference
2022 Ohio 4-H Conference Materials Now Available
4-H Adult Volunteers and Teens are encouraged to attend the 2022 Ohio 4-H Conference on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The day is filled with dozens of break out sessions geared toward both teens and adults. Bring home new ideas for use in your club or with our county program. Lunch is included with the registration fee. Check out the full schedule for the day and list of sessions here. To register, please fill out the registration form here and return to the Licking County Extension Office by Wednesday, February 9, 2022 with payment made to the Licking County 4-H Committee. Sessions fill on a first come, first served basis so please turn in your registration soon to be registered for your desired sessions.
2022 National 4-H Conference
Ohio 4-H is seeking qualified teen applicants to attend the National 4-H Conference in March! The National 4-H Conference is March 19-24 in Washington, D.C. (or, if choosing virtual programming – March 20-24). It is specifically focused on civic engagement, civic education, and personal development. Delegates arrive to D.C. ready to connect, learn, engage, lead and impact their communities, their nation, and their world. Selected Ohio 4-H teens will receive full scholarship coverage to attend National 4-H Conference (travel, housing, registration fees).
Ohio expects to be represented by 3-6 teens from across the state, characterizing core values of leadership, diversity, and civic engagement. We are seeking qualified candidates who represent the Ohio 4-H program positively and who have a passion for youth voice in public issues.
Important information to note:
- Applicants can be a 4-H member from any county in Ohio!
- Applicants must be 15-19 as of January 1, 2022
- Pending the application process of youth choosing the virtual or in-person experience, we will determine the number of delegates representing Ohio given our funding available.
- Applicants must complete the application (link above), including essays (no more than 2 pages total), and attaining signatures in order to be considered.
- Applications (and all supporting materials) must be received by January 24 at 11:59 p.m. to Kayla Oberstadt at oberstadt.1@osu.edu.
- When applications are reviewed, the corresponding 4-H educator will be contacted for a reference for the identified candidate. No documentation or signature is required from the 4-H educator prior to application.

Congratulations to our 2021 Hartford Fair Queen, Natalie Cannon, on being selected to the top fifteen finalists Thursday night during the 2022 Ohio Fairs Queen contest. We are incredibly proud of Natalie as she represented our fair and the Licking County 4-H program in a most wonderful way!
REMINDER: 2022 Advisor Application Available
If you are interested in becoming a Licking County 4-H Advisor, the 2022 Licking County 4-H Advisor Application is available. The document is a fillable PDF so you can fill out the form and save it on your computer and then print and sign, or complete electronic signatures and submit by email. Your application must have all required signatures in order to be considered complete. The completed application must be returned to the Licking County Extension Office by no later than February 1, 2022, although we encourage you to turn your application in as soon as possible to begin the process.
Please carefully review the application and ensure it is complete before submitting it. You must have ALL contact info for your references listed before we can proceed with your application. Once you have submitted your application, we encourage you to have your background check completed as soon as possible as we cannot continue with the process until we have received your background check results. We have found that background checks are typically taking 1-2 months to be processed so please do not wait do have this done.

Speak Up, Speak Out Virtual SPIN Club
Speak Up, Speak Out! is a virtual 4-H SPIN Club for youth grades 6 thru 12. They will meet via Zoom on Thursdays in January and February. There is no cost to attend but register right away as the program starts soon!
