4-H Camp Ohio Bathroom Renovation Project

4-H Camp Ohio – the 4-H camp that serves youth from Licking County 4-H – is raising money for their restroom renovation campaign. The current restroom facility, which was constructed over 50 years ago, has limited privacy and is not compliant with the American Disabilities Act (ADA.)  Time and use have taken their toll on the bathrooms. Periodic updates and general maintenance have helped keep the bathrooms functional. However, bandages can only help so much, and this bathroom remodeling project has risen to the top of our priority list. This effort is important to 4-H Camp Ohio because we know from the feedback of users that facility conditions have a significant impact on their decision to participate in camp programs.

Approximately 8,000 youth and adults camp annually at 4-H Camp Ohio. These user groups are primarily from 4-H and school groups. In addition, 4-H Camp Ohio provides a wonderful retreat and workshop setting for civic organizations, businesses, scout groups, family reunions, and others.

4-H Camp Ohio is the home camping facility for fourteen county 4-H programs including Ashland, Coshocton, Delaware, Franklin, Hancock, Hardin, Holmes, Knox, Licking, Marion, Morrow, Muskingum, Perry, and Wayne counties. It is also the home of the ever-popular Ohio 4-H Leadership Camp which reaches teens from across the state. Each year, thousands of young 4-H members look forward to their favorite week of the year at their county’s 4-H camp!

So far, camp has raised over $32,000 in grant money to begin this project, but in order to complete the whole project an additional $30,000 is needed. With your donation, camp can have new bathrooms on the west side of camp by the beginning of camping season in 2020.
