Lichen Learning

While watching and researching lichen I’ve learned of various ways to live. Through the simple act of observation of another species, it inspires an ecocentric perspective, diverging from a human-centered viewpoint. Lichen develops slowly, yet it plays a vital role in ecosystems around the world, paving the way for other species and marking healthy air quality. Not all acts of partnership are loud, lichen often goes unnoticed yet, it is not any less important. I enjoy learning more about lichen not only because it is fascinating, but because it’s nice to know that every species, no matter it’s impact and size, gets recognized.
