Payscale.com offers me a survey which can test the best job for me by six questions. The result reflects my attitude and expectation of my future career.

For the first question, since I enjoy designing something and coming up with new ideas, I chose the “Creative” option.

For the second one, I selected “School is cool, but I was happy to graduate.” To be honest, I am not such a good student that I would like to learn what I may need in the future. On the contrary, I do not even care about unnecessary knowledges.

I am always the leader of the group so that I think I can be a good boss in the future. Someone may state that leader is not same as boss; however, in my opinion, being a outstanding leader is one of the most important prerequisites to be a successful boss. It means a boss should have all characteristics of a leader. Would I not be the boss, I could not be allowed to do something I want under the authorities.

It is true that people should have a dream to change the world, so do I, but I do not have too much ambitions like that. I just want to influence some people around me and make our life a bit better by what I do so that I chose “Meaningful work is a nice perk.” for the question 4. Question 6 is similar that I prefer to do something meaningful rather than high salary.

As a matter of fact, I disagree with the common conception that stress can turn into motivation. Therefore, for question 5, I answered “I need a few deep breaths to collect myself.”

As the result, the survey recommended me two suitable jobs, Senior Buyer and Design Manager.

Senior Buyer

Senior buyers typically earn between $47,000 and $90,000 annually, with the median salary being around $65,000. Almost 75% of senior buyers report that they are highly satisfied with their career and 58% of them have bachelor’s degrees. According to Payscale.com, 14% of them have graduated with the degree of MBA. The salary is affected by the education level and the experience they have.

According to Payscale.com, “The senior buyer is responsible for negotiating long-term and short-term transactions with vendors…” I think it may be a good choice for me, because I have my own feeling of the products that I could find the best one for my company. My future major, sport industry, partly suitable for this job. I am a sneaker that I am interested in new shoes or clothes and have good taste for them.

Designer manager is an career with huge attraction that I can lead my own team and make things I truly want to design. I have mentioned that I like creative work so I can finish works with all of my efforts. Because of the higher salary, lower pressure and suitability of my interest of creating and my leadership, I prefer to start my career as a designer manager rather than be a senior buyer.
