Current Members
Joanne Patterson, PhD, MPH, MSW – Dr. Joanne G. Patterson is a healthy equity scholar and behavioral scientist whose research program aims to reduce cancer inequities, with a special focus on minoritized lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) populations. Her research is informed by the socio-ecological model and applies an intersectionality framework to investigate determinants of cancer inequities and develop upstream interventions that are targeted to the unique contexts experienced by multiply minoritized populations. She has specific interests in tobacco and alcohol use, cancer screening, and upstream socioeconomic factors, including food insecurity.
Alysha Caine Ennis, MPH – Alysha is the staff research manager on the PS Health Equity team, and a graduate of the Master of Public Health program at OSU. Her research interests include LGBTQ+ health disparities and sexual and reproductive health. Alysha is the research team co-lead on the “Our Health Matters” project.
Wilson Figueroa, PhD – Dr. Figueroa is a Research Scientist with a PhD in Psychology. He is interested in sexual and gender minorities, especially racially minoritized transgender and gender diverse individuals, who at the highest risk for poor mental and physical health outcomes.
Ella Anderson – Ella is Research Assistant and undergraduate Public Heath major with a specialization in Environmental Public Health.
Cherod Bowens – Cherod is a Research Assistant and undergraduate Neuroscience major. Cherod is the research team co-lead on the “Columbus INSIGHT” project.
Sydney Galusha – Sydney is a Research Assistant and an undergraduate student studying Public health with a specialization in Sociology.
Emma Jankowski – Emma is a Graduate Research Associate and second-year MPH-Epidemiology candidate. Emma is the research team lead on the “Aging Well, Aging Together” project.
Khya Smith – Khya is a Research Assistant and undergraduate Public Health major with a specialization in Sociology.
Monica Stanwick – Monica is a Graduate Research Associate and a second-year MPH-Health Behavior and Health Promotion candidate. Monica is the research team co-lead on the “Columbus INSIGHT” project.
Maxwell Schoen – Maxwell is a Research Assistant and an undergraduate Public Health major with a specialization in Sociology.
Caroline Willett – Caroline is a Public Health – Health Behavior and Health Promotion PhD student.
Nina Wolf – Nina is a Graduate Research Associate and MFA student in Design Research and Development with a Graduate Minor in Public Health Behavior and Promotion. Nina is the research team lead on the “Co-Designing Health” project.
