Amy Ferketich, PhD – Professor of Epidemiology in the College of Public Health at The Ohio State University and Interim Co-Chair. Her research falls into the following areas within the field of tobacco control: smoking cessation, tobacco use surveillance, tobacco policy, and tobacco regulatory science.
Brittney Keller-Hamilton, PhD, MPH – Assistant Professor of Epidemiology in the Division of Medical Oncology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. As a member of the Cancer Control Program at the OSUCCC – James, she is interested in tobacco regulatory science, particularly regulations related to marketing and product characteristics.
Liz Klein, PhD, MPH – Chair and Professor in the Health Behavior and Health Promotion division in the College of Public Health at The Ohio State University. The theme of her research is the use of a multi-level, social-ecological approach in the prevention or reduction of tobacco use, with a particular interest in understanding the role of policy, systems and environmental change (PSEC) strategies and their influence on population health behavior, particularly tobacco use.
Darren Mays, PhD, MPH – Associate Professor in the Division of Medical Oncology at The Ohio State University. His research investigates the uptake and progression of tobacco use among young people, risk factors for tobacco use, and tobacco prevention and control interventions designed for population impact.
Megan E. Roberts, PhD – Associate Professor of Health Behavior and Health Promotion in the College of Public Health at The Ohio State University. Dr. Roberts’ research focuses on tobacco use among historically marginalized populations–particularly adolescents and young adults, racial/ethnic minorities, and individuals living in rural areas. The ultimate aim is to better understand the factors that contribute to tobacco initiation and tobacco-related disparities, as well as how such factors can be targeted for prevention.
Ted Wagener, PhD – Director for the Center of Tobacco Research, Co-Leader of the Cancer Control Program at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, Professor and endowed chair in the Department of Internal Medicine at OSU. His research focuses on tobacco regulatory science, including evaluating the behavioral, pharmacological and toxicological effects of cigarette and non-cigarette tobacco products, such as electronic cigarettes and hookah.
Tres Hinds, PhD – Postdoctoral Fellow, Research Affiliate, Steve Hicks School of Social Work and Postdoctoral fellow, Department of Kinesiology and Health Education at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on tobacco use disparities among sexual and gender minority populations.
Evan Krueger, PhD, MSW, MPH – Assistant Professor, Tulane University, School of Social Work. Dr. Evan Krueger is a population health scientist whose research addresses the social and interpersonal determinants of minority health, with a focus on understanding sexual and gender minority (SGM; e.g., lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) disparities in mental health and addiction.
Elise Stevens, PhD – Assistant Professor, Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences/ Division of Preventative and Behavioral Medicine, UMass Chan Medical School. Her research focus: Cognitive, Affective, and Behavioral Responses to Health Communication.
