About Me

Hi there, my name is Sydney Levy and I am from Solon, Ohio. I am currently a Biology major at The Ohio State University. When I attended Solon High School, I was a four-year member of the ladies track team and am the fourth place record holder for pole vault. I also was a competitive dancer and team captain for seven years at a local studio called Dance Studio M. Also through the school, I was a member of the National Honors Society, a peer tutor for math students four hours a week, and held a leadership position for the Jewish Student Union. I volunteered weekly at a place called Friendship Circle where students were able to entertain children with disabilities. During my junior year in high school, I worked on a fundraising campaign through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society called Students of the Year, where my team raised over $33,000 for blood cancer research. This project allowed me to make a difference within the cancer community, and would be something I could definitely see myself contributing to in the future. I am unsure what I want to do after college, but I plan to study science and pursue a career in that field as well. My work experiences include working as a babysitter and working at a day camp throughout the summer. I really enjoyed creating connections with the children and campers, but I would rather utilize my strong math and science background and in my future career. I am part of the jewish female community. I am choosing to participate in events on campus such as attending Hillel and Chabbad, two of the temples on campus. I like to feel connected with my religion, so I am ensuring I stay active within my community by interacting with other Jews for the holiday’s and at other events. I hope through my ePortfolio I am able to share insight on myself and what I intend on doing in the future.
