About Me

Hi! I Emma, a first year at OSU in the Health Sciences Scholars program.I’m looking forward to being a Buckeye! I’m from Cincinnati, OH. Currently, my major is Health Sciences and I’m currently on a Pre- Physical Therapy track. Both my parents are in allied health sciences. My mom is Physical Therapist, and my dad is a Physical Therapist assistant, but now does research on stroke recovery. Ever since I was little I’ve been surrounded by this profession. When I had days off from school I would hang out in the therapy gym at my mom’s work. I started playing soccer competitively at age 10 where I watched lots of my teammates go through PT after injuries on the feild as well as for injury prevention. Because of these experiences, I’ve had a unique perspective that has peaked my interest in PT, and have done a lot of shadowing making sure this is truly an occupation I would love and excel in. I love how dynamic the profession is, being an athlete all my life has instilled a great respect for taking care of my body.  I participated in various leadership and service-based clubs in High School, which has lead to want to pursue an occupation where I directly help others. I couldn’t be more excited to tackle these next four years at OSU!
