About Me

Hi, my name is Matt Leszcz. I am from Westlake, Ohio (a suburb on the west side of Cleveland) and went to high school at Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio. In high school I played football and ran track, was part of Student Senate, and was involved in a few different service clubs. In my free time I like to play pickup basketball and football, golf, ski, and hang out with my family and friends. I live with my parents and four siblings, and I come from a family of buckeyes. I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the Ohio State University and taking Calculus, Physics, and some first time engineering classes. I am part of the Humanitarian Engineering Scholars, and I am looking forward to using the skills I develop in class to help better the community. I enjoy working with other people on projects, and just being around other people in general. While studying at Ohio Sate, I am hoping to join a few clubs and intramural sports teams. I am not entirely sure what I want to do after college as far as my career, but I am excited by all the possibilities a degree in Mechanical Engineering can bring about.

Top 5 Strengths:

1. Analytical

I relate to this strength because I always find myself using logic and reason spontaneously, and finding a need to explain why certain events unfolded as they did. I also tend to use logic to coordinate plans and projects.

2. Includer

I find that I have a very open approach to people and I always love to make new friends. I also find myself hanging out with logical people, and hate excluding people from things.

3. Competition

Through athletics and academics, I have found that I tend to be a very competitive person. My thirst and perseverance for success helps me in all areas of my life.

4. Learner

Since I was young I have always had a desire to continuously learn and improve. Due to this quality, I am always asking “why?” and “how?” in order to find a relationship between the final result and the events preceding it.

5. Strategic

This strength relates to me because I am always subconsciously trying to spot patterns and issues with a given scenario. Due to this strength I tend to thoroughly examine many of the problems I am faced with in my life, and quickly come up with a solution.
