Totally forgot to post my past success this past spring. March 2015, I passed the Oracle OCP Java SE 7 Exam. Soon to take the OCP Java 8 Upgrade.
Java 8 released, now what?
So Oracle released the next incarnation of Java, March 18, for version 8. How long though will it be before widespread adoption takes place? I’m guessing a minimum of one year. They’ve released some significant features, most noted Lambda expressions. Similar JVM options have been available using Groovy, however finally its time that closures can be used directly in the language. Interested in seeing how these changes will affect the overall ability to get the job done.
1Z0-803 Success
Yesterday I successfully completed a couple of years of off-and-on study/preparations and passed the OCAJ7P (1Z0-803) exam. Now to begin the next step and pass OCPJ7P (1Z0-804) exam. Hopefully not as many years before taking the test. If I wait too long I’ll be doing Java 8 certifications.
1Z0-803 Exam
Finally getting my act together and lined up (scheduled) a date/time to take my first Java certification exam — 1Z0-803: Java 7 Programmer I. Been working in Java for years now, but haven’t taken any of the certification exams. Now to prove I actually know something about Java.
junit-dataprovider
In the past couple of days I have read for the first time about TNG/junit-dataprovider. Had already known about junit parameterized tests, but had only found minimal use for them. I’m hopeful for junit-dataprovider since it seems to provide much more flexibility for my tests.
No Future GlassFish Commercial Support
Oracle announced Nov 4, 2013, that GlassFish Server commercial support will no longer be available for future releases.
Updates to GlassFish Server Open Source Edition 4.x, which is not commercially supported, will continue.
