2024-2025 Learning Ecologies Lab

In the Learning Ecologies Lab, we work at the intersections of education and environment.

We work collaboratively with educators and learners to understand and develop pathways for people to learn about and care for the natural world we are all a part of.  We focus on urban communities and explore questions of environmental identity, environmental literacy about complex ecological issues, and the structure and function of learning ecosystems. Our research primarily draws on qualitative methods such as interviews, participant observations, photovoice, and interaction analysis.
