Session Overview

The key to making extraordinary things happen in organizations is great leadership. It contributes more to positive outcomes than any other single factor. Great products, great strategy, great services are absolutely critical, but with poor leadership people reach only a third to a half of their potential. It takes great leadership to create great workplaces that create great outcomes. If you want a highly engaged workforce and better results for your clients and customers, you have to develop and strengthen great leadership in your organization.

In this one-day workshop, leadership author and speaker Mark Sanborn will share highlights from his decades of work about how to create extraordinary experiences in your work and life. Mark will also reveal findings from his newest book, The Potential Principle. In this book, he explores practical steps to focus your efforts to reach your potential. This formula has application to both our personal and professional lives, where our best can keep getting better.

Following Mark’s keynote message, a panel of campus and community leaders will share their perspectives on leadership, partnerships, and Mark’s message. Moderated by Gail Hogan, former co-anchor of NBC 4, panelists include:

  • Angela Cornelius Dawson – Executive Director, Ohio Commission on Minority Health
  • Shannon Ginther – First Lady, City of Columbus; Chair, Columbus Women’s Commission
  • Dr. Anil K. Makhija – Dean and John W. Berry, Sr. Chair in Business, Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University
