The Morrill Scholars Program is a scholarship program that has allowed me to attend Ohio State University with little to no cost. As an out of State student, tuition can be overbearing, but with MSP I currently go to Ohio State University without having to worry about cost of attendance. I was chosen for this scholarship due to my willingness to promote diversity and inclusion within campus.

PREFACE is a four week minority engineering program in which students receive a slice of the college experience before beginning their education at Ohio State University. This was a highly selective program as only 24 out of the many students who applied were chosen. This experience allowed me to meet extremely intelligent, like-minded people whit whom I still hold great relationships with. This program gave me a family of people who I can rely on and who also rely on me.

National Society of Black Engineers is an organization that I joined during Autumn semester in my freshman year. It is also one that I am truly grateful for. It gives me an avenue in which to locate people of my field whose experiences and backgrounds I can relate to. My participation in this organization gives me a sense of unity among those with similar interests as myself.

This is a picture of my Honors and Scholars pin. I am a humanitarian Engineering Scholar. As a Humanitarian Engineering Scholar, I strive to provide engineering amenities to those in marginalized societies.
