The Scholars program has allowed me to create a sustainable involvement in my community, including the campus and people around me. To further this involvement, I plan to continue community service when given the opportunities. Activities and events are a great way to get involved outside of the classroom, meeting numerous people with similar interests as you. Some majors I plan on exploring are business majors. I’ve always had some interest in business but never acted upon it. I have parents in business careers so I have been exposed to many regions of the business world already. I plan on getting a job in construction over the summer, allowing myself to get a different view of a civil engineer. Getting involved in some student organizations would also be a good idea to expand my knowledge in engineering. I’m sure there are many engineering student organizations, but finding the right ones and time to participate could prove to be a challenge. My goals for the future align with Honors & Scholars G.O.A.L.S. in that they strive for excellence while expanding my leadership skills inside and outside of the classroom, maintaining global awareness to appreciate every individual’s unique differences. To work towards these goals, I intend on jumping on the many opportunities Ohio State offers including clubs, community service, and other event occasions.

Columbus To Do List: Part 2
This food truck was located on 2570 N High Street in Old North Columbus. This was a truck we discovered on our way to another, so it was a pleasant surprise to pass. It served delicious Greek style food, but like many of the other food trucks was a little expensive. If you’re looking for something different from what we’re normally exposed to eating, this choice is one I’d recommend.
Junior’s Tacos
This food truck is located on 184 W 5th Ave, near Thompson Park. This was one of the choices on Columbus to do list site, but was relatively far away. Once we finally got there, we were excited to eat our hearts out in tacos. But, we were soon disappointed to pay so much for such small, poorly made tacos. I would not recommend this food truck to a friend looking for quality tacos.
Mikey’s Late Night Slice
Mikey’s Late Night Slice was located on 15 E Duncan St, in Old North Columbus. We expected to visit another food truck, but came upon a full-on restaurant. The pizza and other options were decently priced and very tasty. I would definitely recommend this to a friend looking for a quick, cheap bite to eat.
Jeni’s Truck
Jeni’s Street Treats are a well-known company famous for their delicious flavors of ice cream. We were disappointed to discover that the food truck was closed (most likely because winter is approaching), so instead we visited the Jeni’s Shop on 714 N High St. Their ice cream is definitely worth the price, so I would recommend this shop to any ice cream lovers out there.
Mya’s Fried Chicken
Mya’s Fried Chicken food truck is located on 3400 N High Street. When visiting this location, we were unable to find where the food truck was parked. The location was misleading, taking us to a parking lot outside a hair salon. We concluded the food truck moves locations day to day, so we just showed up on a bad day.
In conclusion, the Food Truck experience proved to be an adventure that has opened my eyes to areas I didn’t know about before. Even living 30 minutes away from the downtown area for the past few years of my life, I was unaware of the numerous parks, food trucks, restaurants, and entertainment places that are offered in Columbus. My favorite experience was using the bus systems to travel up and down N High Street to places I have yet to see. It has given me knowledge on what buses to use and how to use them as well as given me some familiarity with the area outside of campus. I’ve learned Columbus has a lot to offer including our sports, festivals, and other events. This has led me to want to explore the downtown area. Columbus is such a lively and vibrant place, there seems to always be something to do. For someone endeavoring to complete the same list, I recommend exploring food trucks not only on the Columbus to do list, but even some others located near campus. Simply walking down N High Street and streets nearby, food trucks and stands are easy to find. Some better than others, it’s better to just explore all your options – you never know what you might find.
