About Me

In 2015 I graduated from Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Ohio. As a high school student, I was self-motivated and scheduled as many advanced placement and honors courses as time would allow me. Most of my free time was devoted to extracurricular activities and community service.

As secretary of the Future Business Leaders of America, I prepared agendas, recorded minutes, and kept attendance records for weekly chapter and officer meetings. I was also the chairman the FBLA Professional Development Committee. Each year as a member, I competed in the FBLA State Leadership Conference and qualified nationally.

In being an elected member of Student Council, I was entrusted to represent the interests of my class. Each week, members met and discussed ongoing and upcoming events of Lebanon High School and of the local community. As an involved member, I designed and sold the class powder-puff shirts for two years, dedicated roughly 40 hours to the construction of class floats, and volunteered countless hours of service at numerous and diverse community events during my time in office.

During my senior year I served as treasurer of the National Honor Society. It was my obligation to collect membership dues and write receipts, keep digital record of members, speak at induction ceremonies and biweekly meetings, assist in the development of meeting agendas, and coordinate volunteer opportunities for the membership.

During the summer of 2013, I interviewed for a volunteer position at the Newport Aquarium. I received notification shortly after that I would be a dedicated volunteer as part of the WAVE Foundation’s Summer Naturalist program.  My primary purpose was to interpret exhibits and educate guests about the welfare of aquatic animals, natural resources and conservation. By the end of the program, I had volunteered 157 hours of service to the Newport community.

My years in high school were transformative. I satisfied many curiosities on a broad level and learned the value of community service. I look forward to delving deeper into the world of academia at The Ohio State University, and to expanding my service efforts unto the Columbus community.
