About Me

thumb_IMG_1294_1024

Melanie Lander is moving from Avon, Ohio to Columbus as a freshman this year. She is excited to be in the honors engineering program and joined the Engineering Learning Community on campus. Her plan as of now is to graduate with a degree in Chemical Engineering, but she wants to also check out other branches of engineering. Her first few missions on campus will be to find a good campus ministry she will enjoy and grow in, locate some nooks and crannies she can hole up in to study, and pinpoint the best grub hotspots. Back in her hometown she was very involved in high school, organizing dances, blood drives, and spirit weeks as the Vice President of Student Council. She also learned a lot by volunteering at a nursing home. She attended youth group which combined her all her favorite things: people, music, food, laughing, and helping each other grow. Melanie enjoys bossing around her two young sisters, ages 10 and 12, painting with watercolors or acrylics, and driving four-wheelers (also known as ATV’s) in West Virginia with her grandpa. She can always be found with either a set of earbuds or headphones on. She is really friendly and loves people so don’t hesitate to reach out to her!!
