End of Year Review

My first year at Ohio State was great to say the least. I have learned a lot inside and outside of the classroom. In my classes I have learned about what it means to be an Engineer. I learned how to do some basic coding, make 3D models, and technical drawings. In my seminar class I also learned a lot about what resources the school has to offer. I was able to take advantage of tutoring, academic coaching, and first year experience sessions. I also learned a lot about my self this year. I learned that I don’t mind long walks to class, and that I need three meals to keep me going. I tried some group fitness classes and realized that I like to exercise in a group rather than on my own. I also made great connections with the people around me. My roommate and two other girls from my suite became my best friends over the year, and I am beyond excited to be living with them next year too. I made a great friend group, who taught me how to play tennis, card games, and what friendship really means. I wouldn’t trade them for the world. It is hard to pick a favorite memory from this year, so I narrowed it down to a few. Some of my favorite times this year came from the football games. Watching OSU win every home football game was amazing. Even the game where it was freezing cold and pouring down rain was great because of everyone’s buckeye spirit. Another favorite memory of mine was celebrating Valentine’s day with my boyfriend at Otherworld. It is an amazing immersive art exhibit just outside of Columbus. It was a lot of fun and a really cool place to go. We went out to eat downtown at a place called The Walrus and had some great food. Last but not least all those nights staying up late with my friends make up some of my top favorite memories, whether that was for studying for finals, playing games, or just talking. Next year I am looking forward to more great times with my friends and to my classes being more consistent with my major. I am excited to go on the camping trip for ENR scholars and for other activities that are being planned. I am also looking forward to living on north campus. Even though I don’t mind the walk and will miss good sweet Morrill Tower, north campus has its perks also. I am closer to many more places to eat, and I will be right across form Panera. I will also be a short walk from my classes so that will be a plus when it is cold or rainy out. Overall, my year at Ohio state has been great so far, minus the setbacks due to the Corona Virus, but that is just one drop in the pool. I am so glad that I chose to come to Ohio State. It was definitely the right choice for me, and I can not wait to start my sophomore year.
