My Personal Leadership Style

I took the Enneagram Personality test and I am categorized as a type two personality. A type two is labeled “The Helper”. Twos can be generous and demonstrative, but they can also be people-pleasing, and possessive. Their basic desire is to feel loved. For the most part, I would say that this test is accurate. I was and continue to be involved with service work. I was a daycare teacher for a year, which is a job that was used as an example of what kind of careers twos look for. I also think that the demonstrative quality applies to me because I have chosen to go into mechanical engineering, which is a very demonstrative field. In my past I use to be people pleasing, but now I think that I have moved up levels of development to two or three, where I am encouraging and accepting of other and of myself. In order to move up in my levels of development I need to be more trusting of others and more humble. I can apply this to my time at Ohio State by doing projects and joining groups that align with my personality type. I think that joining the Boo Radley Society next year would help me to be more selfless and help me grow in my personality. I will also be doing more creative engineering assignments as my time at Ohio State goes on, and I could make these project more focused on helping others who need it and less on profits.
