ENR Alumni Interview

Last week I meet with Liz, an ENR alum. Liz is an upperclassman at OSU. She is majoring in physics. She is doing research here at Ohio State for optics and magnetism. She also has experience as an RA in Smith Steeb. Liz told me that I will not be getting into the interesting classes until I am in my upperclassman year. Liz was and is in clubs that are particular to her major. When we discussed clubs and extracurriculars Liz gave me the advice that I do not need to dive into clubs until I feel comfortable with my workload and everything else that comes with college. Liz also had an internship last summer, that she interviewed for. Her advice for interviewing would be to treat it as a conversation instead of an interrogation. She said this would help with being more relaxed, and with confidence in answers. I am going to keep Liz’s advice in mind throughout my time in college and in my early career. Liz’s advice to get the most out of ENR was to go to the events outside of class. She said she really enjoyed getting off campus with the group and just having fun. Liz told me that if I ever needed it to reach out and I will definitely take this into consideration when I am looking for internships, jobs or just advice. Overall I had a nice time meeting up with Liz and am glad I got to know her. She had a lot of good advice and was very kind.
