To ensure a cleaner, less toxic, future for Lake Erie we must push for legislation to protect the lake and prevent the overuse and dumping of pesticides. As described in the page on other initiatives, Toledoans for Safe Water push for exactly this, as well as, like their name suggests, safe water elsewhere in Toledo. Working with a group like them, as well as by contacting our lawmakers can ensure the lake remains safe and the life becomes healthier. Another way to help is to push city officials to appeal the court’s ruling of the Lake Erie Bill of Rights, a bill designed to protect the lake, as unconstitutional. As always, one of the easiest ways you can help is by voting for lawmakers who align with your views, lawmakers who will protect the lake.
