Year in Review
[ “Year in Review” is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student. You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year. G.O.A.L.S.
Global Awareness: OSU is an incredibly diverse place, and I believe that the diversity in this microcosm reflects the diversity that I will encounter in the world once I begin my professional life. In order to better prepare myself for this diverse world, I plan on taking courses that teach me about various cultures, religions, and languages. I hope to garner a rich understanding of the different people in the global community by learning new languages and uncovering knowledge regarding different world traditions. In the future, I hope to partake in a study abroad experience to put the global knowledge I am bound to gain into practice. I hope to travel to Australia, Japan, Korea, or England on a study abroad trip.
Original Inquiry: I plan to partake in undergraduate research sometime during my sophomore year. I hope to get involved in a research project for an environmental science or a biology program in order to engage with the field in which I am striving to earn a career. I want to participate in at least one research endeavor for each year I am enrolled as an undergraduate student, starting during my second year on campus. It would be incredible if these research projects would take me to different parts of the country or even new parts of the world.
Academic Enrichment: I chose a biology major in order to prepare myself for the rigors of medical school. I know that if I take challenging science courses during my undergraduate years, that I will have a broad range of academic experience that will help me better understand the intensive medical field that I hope to be engaged with. I intend to select courses that will challenge me, otherwise I feel that I will not be accurately preparing myself for my future. Rigorous coursework is something that I enjoy greatly because it helps me develop my mental skills and grow into a capable, intelligent member of society.
Leadership Development: I am currently involved in H20 Church, Anime Club, Disney Club, and I hope to continue expanding this list of co-curricular organizations as I explore the campus more. I think that growing and shaping myself into a well-rounded person requires me to experience many unique student organizations and get involved in many different activities. I hope to grow as a leader for other students as I cultivate relationships with the clubs I am currently involved with, and with clubs I will join in the future! I also hope to be inspired enough to create my own club so that I can positively impact my own life and the lives of other students who are searching for organizations to join.
Service Engagement: I am currently engaged with H20 Church, and I hope to explore their ongoing service activities in great detail. I am still exploring other service opportunities across campus as I learn about more and more ways to impact my community. I want to serve animal shelters because helping care for animals is something that I will always be passionate about. I also hope to serve people within the community who are wanting for basic necessities because I believe that we must open our hearts to everyone and love every person in order to create a strong world full of love and kindness.

Artifacts
[Artifacts are the items you consider to be representative of your academic interests and achievements. For each entry, include both an artifact and a detailed annotation. An annotation includes both a description of the artifact and a reflection on why it is important to you, what you learned, and what it means for your next steps. About Me – Gabby Krugman!
Hello! My name is Gabby Krugman and I am a first-year biology major here at The Ohio State University. I hail from the lovely little town of Amherst, Ohio, where I graduated 6th in my class from Marion L. Steele High School. I love playing tennis, reading novels, watching anime, and going out to eat with my close friends! I am involved with H2O Church and Scarlet and Gray Anime, and there are a plethora of other co-curricular activities that I am currently exploring as well.
Ever since the 8th grade, I have known just what I want to do with my life – become a pathologist. My grandma introduced me to pathology when I was almost half-way through my 8th grade school year, and I have been enthralled with it for the past few years. So, with my ePortfolio, I hope to document the steps I’ve taken and continue to take to reach my eventual goal of working in the field of pathology!
