Art and Revolution in Mexico

After recovering from years of civil war and attempting to develop a new, stable government, the people of Mexico searched for a new tradition amongst the ruins. In light of this search, Mexican Muralism was born. Artists hoped that creating art that was made for the public and centered on indigenous Mexican traditions would help to unite the country.
