About Me

Hello! My name is Tessa Kreikemeier and I am a first year Health Sciences Scholar studying Public Health on the pre-medicine track. I love learning about people–why we act they way we do, think the way we do, function the way we do, etc.–and I am passionate about improving the lives of all people, especially those typically underrepresented in society.  I am also very passionate about health and fitness; I love working out and eating “clean,” but I definitely enjoy my share of sweet treats too!

Year in Review

My freshman year flew by, and I already feel like I have grown so much since I moved into my dorm in August. I learned so much more about myself: my learning habits, how to best prepare for class, what I am looking for in terms of extracurricular activities, and so much more.

This year, I had the opportunity to get involved with many different clubs and activities. I tried out for and joined the Ohio State Women’s Soccer Club, rushed a Panhellenic sorority on campus, and joined several volunteer-based and pre-professional clubs: RAM OSU, A Kid Again, and American Medical Women’s Association. I also was fortunate enough to volunteer at the Wexner Medical Center, cleaning, labeling, and packaging COVID-19 samples. Even though it was a very simple task, it was fun to be in the lab-setting and be a part of the COVID-19 team on campus.

Overall, I am proud of my academic success this year, as well as my various involvements, and I am looking forward, with excitement, to my second year at Ohio State.
